Business Models

Physic Ventures invests in business models which span the value chain of the consumer-driven health and sustainable living industry. Often times our investments are in companies that directly serve consumers; increasingly we are also investing in B2B2C models where the primary innovation serves an intermediary enterprise which then directly reaches the consumer.

Three types of business models characterize the Physic Ventures strategy:

Innovative technologies which empower consumers and patients in the areas of health and environmental prediction, prevention, personalization, and performance

• Science-Based Branded Consumer Products, Services and Solutions:

Consumer-targeted products which deliver value to users through differentiated and innovative science and technology

• Innovative Channels:

Novel platforms and distribution networks which deliver products, services and information to consumers

Stage and Geography

Physic Ventures makes investments ranging from seed stage to growth equity stage, primarily in North American-based companies. Physic Ventures generally leads its initial investment in a company and plays an active role on the Boards of Directors of its portfolio companies.

The Physic Ventures team has extensive experience in starting and working with emerging companies. The Physic Ventures team assists management by providing business, scientific, financial, recruiting and deal-making resources.

After an investment is made, Physic Ventures investment professionals devote substantial time and experience working with management to build and grow portfolio companies. Additionally, Physic Ventures works diligently to leverage strategic assets from its network of partners to accelerate market validation and scale.
